Terraria
Dig, build and fight your way through a side-on world packed with secrets. An enormous amount of game.

You start with a pickaxe and an empty world, seen from the side. Dig down and you find ore, caves, underground jungles and far stranger places; build up and your little house becomes a town full of helpful characters. Along the way more than a dozen bosses wait to be beaten.
Since its release in 2011 the developers have added several large free updates. Journey Mode lets newcomers adjust the difficulty and duplicate items, which makes the start far more relaxed.
What we like
- Huge depth for the size of the game
- Years of free updates
- Great with friends
Worth knowing
- Very little explanation in-game
- Can swallow whole weekends
